Chamber Players International

Chamber Players International is a unique, classical music ensemble which serves as an important cultural resource for the entire Long Island and Metropolitan New York community. Founded in 1971, (then named the Sea Cliff Chamber Players), CPI is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation and gives between 25 and 30 concert events annually. Over its more than forty-four year  history, it has developed a strong presence within the region and boasts a Board of Directors comprised of noted civic leaders and professionals representing virtually every industry in the region. Our artist roster is comprised of nationally and internationally renowned concert musicians all of whom have won major competitions, record for major record labels and who are on the faculties of our most important conservatories, musical schools and universities.

Chamber Players was founded in 1971 to fill a need for a fully professional musical and educational ensemble in the Long Island region. As the first independent, regional group of its kind in the nation, Chamber Players subsequently became the model for other regional chamber music societies throughout the country. In 1996, the organization was re-organized to better reflect its artistic mission as well as the make-up of its “international quality”  artist roster.  In 1998, David Winkler was appointed the Executive Director and the ensemble name was changed to Chamber Players International.  That same year we created our community concerts initiative as well as an ongoing musical education component.
