To Whom It May Concern

Music and Spoken Word by Jerry Rizzi

This special collection of music and spoken word compositions by Jerry Rizzi features the composer performing as bassist and cellist, and reading his poetry, assisted by a superb array of guest artists, including Pete Thompson, drummer on Robert Plant’s solo recordings, Rod Rook Davies, guitarist for an early David Bowie band, and ¬†internationally renowned clarinetists Stanley and Naomi Drucker. The basis for Jerry Rizzi’s unique composition and performance style is derived from a passion for music in all forms combined with opportunities to learn from some of the best artists from various genres. Early In Jerry’s career, he had the opportunity and privilege to study bass with Jimmy Garrison, famed bassist with the John Coltrane quartet. Later, while attending classical music classes at Hofstra University, Jerry was privileged to study cello under the guidance of Seymour Benstock. At the same time, Jerry was utilizing his talents on bass guitar as a member of the band for legendary jazz guitarist Joe Monk, who was also one of his mentors.
